Date: Thursday 22nd September 2011
Venue: Clapham Common, London
In September 2011, Daytrippers had our very own private day at Europe’s most unusual music festival, that has run annually for over 20 years on Clapham Common. Throughout the day, we were able to welcome 130 children with special needs to join us in this walk-in scultpure of intense colour. Arranging a variety of music and colour workshops the children each got to experience all that this magical world of colour and light can offer. There really is no better way to learn about colour and sound – this is truly a special way of making education fun. Seven special schools took up the opportunity to explore this unique space, with a tailor made painting workshop in the afternoon for returning students from Oak Lodge School for the Deaf. This structure is a work of art and something that you just have to experience first hand.
Thank you to the whole team at Colourscape for yet again putting on an inspiring and creative day. Make sure you get in contact if you want to join us next year! [020 7758 0030 or enquiries@daytrippers.org.uk]
