Daytrippers Christmas Show 2007

The 335 children who filed into the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith will remember last Christmas with fondness as they were among the lucky few to attend Daytrippers’ trip to the Beauty and the Beast.The young audience laughed, cheered and were encouraged to interact with the actors as they followed the marvelous adventures of Beauty and her faithful canine companion, stopping only briefly to fill up with ice-cream during the interlude. After the show the children were lucky enough to meet the cast and even allowed to have their photos take with the performers to round of what was a truly magical Christmas outing.

This is Me Art Exhibition 2007
Date: 4th - 9th December 2007
Venue: Bankside Gallery, London SE1 9JH
In December Daytrippers supported The Association of Children’s Hospices with their This is Me Art Exhibition. Children from Hospices all over the country submitted their Art Work to exhibit in the top London Bankside Gallery. Working with the Children’s Hospices Daytrippers offered each artist a chance to visit the exhibition and see their work on display.
The exhibition was a huge success and each piece of art work was auctioned off to raise money for the Hospices. We were thrilled with the standard of art work and the support that the event received. Thank you for everyone who contributed to such a unique event.

Daytrippers Pan-Disability Football Tournament 2007

Venue: David Beckham Football Academy, Greenwich
For a second year running Daytrippers hosted our Pan-Disability Football Tournament at the David Beckham Academy in Greenwich. Over 220 boys and girls came together from all over the country to play more than 70 matches of 6 a side football in Championships or Leagues for the Under 12s and Under18s stopping only for a healthy packed lunch. The great team spirit shown by all the players and fantastic atmosphere created by their supporters made for a fun packed day.
Each player was presented with a Daytrippers Medal and Goodie Bag. There were also special Trophies for the runners up and winning teams of each competition. Two players of the tournament were also lucky winners of a full kit from The David Beckham Academy.

Daytrippers Ritzy Film Premiere 2007

Venue: Ritzy Cinema, Brixton
On Saturday 29th September at the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton over 80 talented children from Charlie Chaplin Adventure Playground and Oakleigh School came together to see their own Film Premiere. The audience watched a showcase of 8 films and animations all created by the children themselves through a range of workshops throughout the year. The films were fantastic with everyone impressed by the ideas, imagination and use of materials.
The day was presented by Laura Hamilton (Nikelodeon) and George Wood (I Dream & Disney Club), with a musical performance from Hayereyah and a stunning display of the UK’s top Street Dancing by Stefan Sinclair. The event ended with a special awards ceremony where eight Daytrippers Oscars were presented for ‘Outstanding Achievements’ whilst those watching tucked into their free popcorn and drinks.

Daytrippers Halloween Party 2006

Venue: The Clapham Grand, London
On Saturday 28th October, The Grand in Clapham opened its doors to over 1100 people for the Daytrippers Halloween Party. Pumpkins, Witches and Ghosts were welcomed with their families to this exclusive day.
The event kicked off with skilled Break Dancers moving to top tunes by London DJ Gari Sav. Live performances followed from the talented De Ja Vu, Espree and Mobo nominees Fun*dmental. Lucy Ambache (Choice FM) and Aisleyne (Big Brother 7) both came down to meet and greet all the guests and join in the fun. The star attraction on the day was a live set from Chico (X Factor) who performed some of his most recent singles.
As usual the raffle was littered with top prizes such as a Thierry Henry signed Arsenal Football Shirt, a Playstation with games, MP3 player, iPods, restaurant vouchers, DVD player and DVDs, Woolworths vouchers, and the star prize of a family trip to Euro Disney in Paris! Along with unlimited drinks on the day, and free goodie bags with Harry Potter Wands no one left empty handed.

Daytrippers Pan-Disability Football Tournament 2006

Bringing together around 220 football mad boys and girls from all over the country at the stunning David Beckham Academy in London, this event was a day of back to back matches. Split into two tournaments, one for the under 12s and one for the under 16s, there were over 60 matches with gaps only for lunch. Each player walked away with a Daytrippers medal and a huge smile on their faces after such an eventful day.

Daytrippers Halloween Party 2005

Venue: The Clapham Grand, London
The Daytrippers Halloween Party proved a fun event for all the family. The Grand in Clapham was the chosen venue and it didn’t let us down with over a thousand people attending the party.
Top London DJ Gari Sav kept the party flowing by playing the best in upfront music and we were treated to four live acts on the day, Cookie, Nathan, 4Tune and Addictiv Ladies from the X Factor! Two fantastic dance troops, Genetix and Ricochet, gave a stopping dance performance to remember.
Celebrities that attended were Stefan Booth (Hollyoaks and The Bill), Myfanwy Warring (The Bill), Kamal (Big Brother 6), Manny Norte (BBC 1Xtra) and Hershey Pascual (OK & Star Magazine).
The prize raffle proved a great draw with sensational prizes such as Playstation 2 with games, CD players, DVD players, Digital cameras, MP3 players, mobile phones and the star prize a trip to Euro Disney Paris!

Daytrippers Summer Party 2005

The Daytrippers exclusive summer party, held at The Clapham Grand, London, was the only place to be on Saturday 25th June 2005. This amazing event included something for the whole family.
Music was provided by celebrity DJs Gari Sav and the award winning Manny Norte from BBC 1xtra. There were live performances from Time for Nothing, Grounded, Cookie and show stopping dance routines from Genetix and Ricochet.
Celebrities turned out in force to lend their support on the day and assist with the Daytrippers prize raffle. A massive thank you to Du’aine Ladejo (Celebrity Love Island), George Ndah (Wolves FC), Craig Rocastle (Sheffield Wednesday FC) and Mikyla Dodd (Hollyoaks).
There were loads of prizes including a Playstation 2 with games, Xbox with games, iPods, digital camera, signed football shirts from Arsenal and Tottenham FC’s and a family trip to Euro Disney Paris with £200 spending money plus many more!

Clarendon School - Kayaking and Rock Climbing

This trip was part of the wonderful Clarendon Summer Scheme which they base on the Richmond Mencap Summer Fun model - a series of events and activities to get the young people active and to introduce them to new skills.
The Scheme runs over two weeks, combining a variety of different activities in order to provide opportunities for fun, socialising, team work, development of independence, challenge of potential, development of self-confidence, all in a safe and secure setting. Daytrippers supported Clarendon on some of the activities and this was one of them. A really fun way to spend the day!
AFC Bournemouth Football Club - Science Museum

AFC Bournemouth Ability Counts Football Club took over 30 children to a wonderful day out in central London. First stop was the Science Museum, where the children marvelled at all the gadgets and learned about space travel. This was followed by a picnic at Hyde Park, after which the group made their way to the Houses of Parliament.
All the children, parents and carers learned a lot during the day as well as spending some fun time together.
